GetMoving Exercise Class: Tuesdays from 9 - 10 a.m. at Equinox Village. GetMoving is a dynamic, comprehensive fitness class for active seniors, especially those that may have conditions, injuries, or a lack of experience. This is a lively workout to reclaim and maintain vitality.
Participants should wear sneakers and bring an exercise mat. GetMoving is presented by Cornerstone Fitness and created and led by Chris Uchida: a personal trainer, past professional dancer, and licensed physical therapy assistant. Rich Marantz of Green Mountain Tai Chi leads interested seniors toward health and happiness using the methods and philosophies of Tai-chi chuan, Qigong and traditional Chinese external-qi healing. Chair Yoga with Ali: Fridays at Equinox Village from 2 - 2:45 p.m. Certified Yoga instructor Ali Wassick hopes to teach her students to breathe, relax, and be present. She completed her training at Yoga Vermont in Burlington in 2006. Her teaching style is inspired by Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Anusara, and Restorative Yoga. Learn to Draw II: Thursdays, Feb. 14, 21, 28 and March 7 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Equinox Village. The second class in this drawing series, Instructor Tony Conner will help participants build on the abilities and skills developed in Learn to Draw I.
The focus will be on creating drawings of collections of multiple objects and will introduce the concept of depicting form through the use of value and shading. Classes are free for Equinox Village residents and $50 for members of the public.
