"Wild Wings very generously donates the use of their facility, so there is no trail fee for participants, nor is there any fee to register or take part. Whatever donation(s) or pledges you bring in give you access to all the open trails to cross country ski or snowshoe," said event founder Martha Robertson. "It is important that anyone who wants to help make a difference has the opportunity to do so, so we make it fun and easy to help others. There are no requirements for distance or donations."
Participants may come and go during the day as their schedules allow. It is not a timed event and people cross country ski or snowshoe at their own comfort level and pace; there is terrain for beginners to experts.
"Peru tends to get more snow than surrounding areas, and Chuck and Ian do an amazing job of grooming, so it is always beautiful to be out there," Robertson said.
Clark's Quality Foods in Londonderry is the title sponsor for Ski for Heat 2013.

Animals are not allowed at the Ski for Heat event.
