The assisted living community is hosting the evening full of colorful puppets and masks worn by Pontine Theatre's Artistic Directors Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers as they tell this classic Christmas tale. The event is free and open to the public on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. The Pontine Theatre primarily focuses on expression through movement and all performances are original works created by the artists who perform them. Their version of "It's A Wonderful Life" is a 40-minute, condensed version of the screenplay exhibiting a combination of shadow puppets, bunraku-style puppets, commedia dell'arte-style masks, and live action.
After the performance, members of the audience are invited on stage to meet the performers and get a closer look at the props.
"We are thrilled to have such high quality performers come to Equinox Terrace," said Ann Bouza, executive director at Equinox Terrace Assisted Living. "Incorporating puppets and masks into this classical theatrical performance will make it exciting for the whole family. We invite everyone to come, bring their children, and enjoy the spirit of the season with our residents."
Equinox Terrace Assisted Living invites the public to attend the event. If a member of the media would like to cover the event or conduct an interview, call Amy Jones at 214-890-7912 Ext. 30 or send an email to email@example.com.
