OFF THE SHELF: Authors in Conversation is a partnership between the Northshire Bookstore and WAMC Northeast Public Radio; a live stage event featuring Joe Donahue of The Bookshow interviewing authors. Each event is taped and later aired on WAMC, reaching thousands of listeners. The venue will be the Maple Street School. The event starts at 4 p.m. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. A booksigning will follow interview. In addition to "The uncommon appeal of clouds," Mr. McCall Smith will sign an unlimited ammount of titles purchased at the event. Previously owned titles are limited to two per person.
Alexander McCall Smith is the author of the beloved bestselling No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, the Isabel Dalhousie series, the Portuguese Irregular Verbs series, the 44 Scotland Street series, and the Corduroy Mansions series. He is also the author of numerous children's books. He is professor emeritus of medical law at the University of Edinburgh and has served with many national and international organizations concerned with bioethics. He was born in what is now known as Zimbabwe and taught law at the University of Botswana. He lives in Scotland.
