WESTON - Weston's historic Church on the Hill will celebrate the completion of an antique pipe organ which has been restored, enhanced and installed in the church's choir loft. Originally a chamber organ, it has been refitted with additional ranks of pipes by organ builder Erik Johansson to become a full-sound concert organ to enhance the offerings of what is already known as "the Music Church."

The organ was donated to the Church by Elisabeth High MacClarence, sister of Helen High Burdick, and will be dedicated in memory of Harold and Bess High who were long-time presiders over Weston's treasured Church on the Hill.

The dedication celebration will feature music by organist Ken Olsson, locally renowned as a conductor, pianist and vocalist. Mr. Olsson will play the pipe organ in company with musicians Julie Olsson, soprano, Kathi Byam, flute, and Erik Johansson harp, providing an evening of inspiring music. In addition, Mr. Olssen will also play the Church's antique Estey reed organ - a unique contrast of organ sounds.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend the unique ceremony at 7:30 p.m., followed by a reception in the Church provided by the Inn at Weston and an opportunity to talk with organ builder Erik Johansson and view the newly-created concert organ. While there is no cost to attend, donations for ongoing maintenance of the historic building will be gratefully received.

The next scheduled event at the Church on the Hill will be a Prelude to Christmas by the Ladies Night Out Chorus with Heidi Soons, Harpist, on Nov.
