MANCHESTER - Peter and Angelika Boll have announced the addition of a new Solar Photovoltaic System at the Palmer House Resort.

The new PV system is expected to produce at least 8,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. The Palmer House PV's are tied into the Green Mountain Power electrical grid and are part of the GMP net-metering program. GMP will pay the Palmer House a premium for electricity produced by the sun.

The addition of the new PV system now makes a total of five solar systems installed at the Palmer House. Over the past three years, the Bolls have installed solar hot water systems on four of their resort buildings. Peter Boll says that he has already saved several thousand dollars in fuel oil expense because of his solar hot water systems. Now, the sun will help him will save money on the resort's electric bill, too.

The Palmer House was recently awarded the designation as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State by the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership program.

The Palmer House solar system was designed and installed by Solar Pro of Arlington.
