PERU - For the thirty-first straight year, the Peru Fair will hold its annual parade down Main Street, populated with antique cars, llamas, featured entertainment acts, fire trucks, local service groups and marching children.

Visitors are urged to be on time for its 9:45 a.m. start to witness this "one of a kind," rural Vermont parade that is a high light of the Fair, rated by the Vermont Tourist Board as one of Vermont's 10 best annual tourist events.

"Last year's parade was our largest ever" said Barbara Ardell, Peru Fair Parade Committee Head, "and we are always interested in including new participants." Organizations or groups interested in participating can contact Barbara at vt59@sover.net.

This year's Fair will feature over 100 local food and craft vendors, numerous entertainment groups, its renowned village green Pig Roast and several thousand visitors roaming its 400 yard long main Street.

First time visitors will find parking and bus service to the town at the Bromley Mountain parking lot. Adult admissions fees are $5 - Children under 6 are admitted free. All proceeds benefit the Peru Scholarship Fund. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed due to safety concerns.
