MANCHESTER - September is traditionally the time for classes to start again, and the Mark Skinner Library is offering a class that no one dealing with Medicare issues will want to miss.

On Thursday, Sept.13 at 6 p.m., Fred Hoyt, Regional Coordinator of the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging and a Certified Medicare Counselor, will discuss Part D Prescription Coverage with information on subsidized programs with both Vermont and the Federal Government. Enrollment and disenrollment periods, as well as special enrollment situations, will also be discussed.

Hoyt is Coordinator of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) which annually assists over 4,000 Medicare beneficiaries in Rutland and Bennington counties.

Handouts from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will be available. In addition to Medicare beneficiaries, anyone who may be assisting them is encouraged to attend.
