BONDVILLE - The Mountain School will host a community-wide potluck picnic and pick-up softball game on Tuesday, Sept. 4, to celebrate the start of the school year.

All parents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors are more than welcome to attend.

The fun commences at 10:30 a.m., with morning activities to start the day followed by lunch at noon - chicken sandwiches and burgers supplied by the Fat Spy Tavern, in Bondville, and drinks will be provided.

All guests are encouraged to bring a sharing dish of salad or dessert. In an effort to make the day as "green" as possible, guests are asked to bring their own reusable place settings - no disposables. A co-ed, all age, all skill level softball game begins on the school's field at 12:45 p.m. Bring gloves, mitts, caps and sneakers.

The entire community is invited and urged to join in this opening day tradition.

The Mountain School at Winhall is an accredited Pre-K-8 independent community school in Bondville located at 9 School Street. For information on the school or its programs, call Daren Houck, Head of School, at 297-2662.
