MANCHESTER - Maple Street School's Scholarship Program raised over $295,000 last year, helping to support 41 students. The Scholarship Program was initiated at the founding of the school in 1998.

Dr. Fran Bisselle states, "First, I thank all of our community supporters and donors, as their investment in our scholarship program makes a real difference in the lives of our students and families. Scholarship is a core value at Maple Street, as we believe that our student body should not be limited to those children whose families can afford a Maple Street education and thus, we actively seek to attract representation from all socioeconomic levels."

Recently, due in part to the economy and events such as Irene, there is even greater need among Vermont families for financial aid. Today, one out of every two applicants to Maple Street requests scholarship aid and over 40 percent of Maple Street's students currently receive financial aid.
