MANCHESTER - Many birds are quiet now - no orioles or Rose-breasted Grosbeaks belting out their songs. It is a time for watchfulness, for parent birds and for birders trying to catch avian activity - carrying food, feeding young, squawking young. Join the monthly survey of birds at Hildene: The Lincoln Family Home in Manchester at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 16.
The walks start at the Hildene Visitors Center; binoculars are available to borrow. All of the bird data collected during the Hildene surveys is entered in the international database, ebird. Contact Randy at the Vermont Bird Place & Skywatch or call 362-2270 for more information.
