Erica Marthage, Bennington County State's Attorney, said that the state had to file the warrant for Morrison's arrest with the state of Calif. because he is currently incarcerated there. Once the warrant was filed, the state can now bring him to Vermont.
"He is not entitled to a hearing that he is in fact the person the state of Vermont is looking for," she said.
Now, because the hearing found Morrison is in fact the individual Vermont is charging, there is a 30 day appeal period. After this period has passed, Marthage said the state will most likely contract with the U.S. Marshals to bring Morrison to Vermont for the trial.
