A letter from Ellis Speath Engineering filed at the town hall dated Feb. 11 regarding proposed changes to the shopping center, located on Depot Street, called for a demolition of 21,200 square feet of the existing building "at the northerly wall of the Price Chopper store," then adding onto the northerly wall about 20,700 square feet. The letter stated that this would "about double the size of the exisitng Price Chopper store."
The proposal had been part of the announced agenda for next Wednesday's meeting of the Development Review Board, and slated for an informal discussion. No binding action would have resulted from that discussion.
However, that proposal has been withdrawn for the moment and the discussion on the shopping center will not be part of the meeting after all.
A fuller story will be posted to the Journal's website as soon as possible.
