HIGHGATE - A pair of 5-on-3 strikes were the difference for the Burr and Burton Academy boys hockey team Saturday as the Bulldogs blanked Milton, 2-0.

Andy Ishu scored both for the Bulldogs, whose eighth straight victory avenged a 4-1 defeat earlier this season and bumped their record to 9-3. Zack Stewart made 24 saves in the win. Brandon Rhoades stopped 37 shots for Milton (5-3-2).

Bulldogs throttle Redhawks

SOUTH BURLINGTON - Erin Thompson netted a hat trick and two assists for Burr and Burton Academy in a 9-4 win against Champlain Valley in girls hockey on Saturday.

Olivia Warren also scored twice for BBA, which improved to 5-6-1 on the season.

Bulldogs move to 10-2

MANCHESTER - Eleven players scored for Burr and Burton Academy in a 60-41 win against Otter Valley in boys basketball on Saturday.

Jake Stalcup led the Bulldogs (10-2) with 12 points while Joey Shehadi had 10. Ryan Kelly led all scorers with 21 points for the Otters. BBA, which hosts Brattleboro on Tuesday, led 30-13 at halftime.

Arlington trims Bucks

WELLS RIVER - Alex Hawley and DJ Jennings combined for 43 points Saturday as Arlington Memorial High School used a third-quarter burst to beat Blue Mountain, 59-48, in boys basketball.

Hawley had 23 points, including 19 after halftime, and Jennings tallied 20, with 18 coming before the break for the Eagles (5-5).

Arlington led 29-28 at the half and outscored the Bucks (5-5) 18-6 in the third quarter. Damian Smith had 13 points to lead Blue Mountain.

Lake Region trumps BBA

WINDSOR - Lake Region opened up a 25-14 halftime lead that it never gave back in a 43-37 win against Burr and Burton Academy in girls basketball at Windsor High School on Saturday.

Tyrah Urie led the Rangers (8-2) with 15 points.

Freshman Hannah Nicholson paced BBA (5-5) with 10 points while Claudia Mosher and Devin Brown added nine apiece.
