MANCHESTER - The filing deadline for candidates running for office has come and gone and there is only one contested race among candidates for state representative.

Emmett Dunbar (I) is running against Charles "Tim" Goodwin (I) for the seat that will be left vacant by State Representative Oliver Olsen (R - Bennington-Windham-Windsor-1) who is not seeking reelection.

In what has now become a two member district known as Bennington-4 current State Representatives Cynthia Browning (D) - who currently represents a district that includes Arlington, Sandgate, Sunderland and West Rupert - and Jeff Wilson (D - Manchester) are running unopposed. Patti Komline (R) - who represents the Bennington-Rutland district - is also running unopposed.

State Senators Robert Hartwell (D) and Richard Sears (D) - both of whom represent the Bennington district - are running unopposed as well. The primary election is scheduled for Aug. 28.
