MANCHESTER - Mark Harding, renowned local musician, teacher, entrepreneur and adjunct music professor at Castleton State College, has announced he will be opening a music store and teaching studio complex at 4732 Main Street in downtown Manchester Center on Sunday, June 10.

The mission will be to build a new center for music in the town with a focus on education as the basis for the retail aspect of the business.

Expert private and group instruction for all instruments by credentialed and well-known professional musicians will be available in three sound proofed, air-conditioned teaching studios right in the store. A selection of instruments and accessories both new and used will be offered for sale including instruments hand built by regional craftspeople and consignment sales. The store will also stock sheet music for all needs, used CD's, as well as new ones by quality local artists and various music-related gifts such as T-shirts, hats and posters.

Additional services offered will eventually include instrument repairs, rentals and a booking service for music for local events.

"My goal is to bring to the area a service that will truly enhance the local musical environment and meet the needs of every musician both professional or amateur in the region," said Harding. He will be offering three free lessons with any guitar, keyboard or drum set purchased on the opening day.
