ARLINGTON/MANCHESTER — Simplified Tai Chi classes are now being offered Thursdays, 10 to 10:45 a.m. in Manchester and Fridays 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Arlington. These classes, facilitated by certified instructor, Rich Marantz are appropriate for seniors and those in the process of healing from injury and illness. The practice of Tai Chi has numerous health benefits. According to a recent issue of the Harvard Women's Health Watch, Tai Chi has been shown to improve balance, upper and lower body strength and increase range of motion. It also said that when combined with standard treatment, Tai Chi can be helpful in treating arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure, Parkinson's disease, sleep problems and stroke.
