STRATTON - The Fall 2014 Stratton Mindfulness Series is a partnership with Wind Rose Retreats that includes seven immersive, relaxing and transformational weekend retreats of self-discovery that will be held at the resort from Sept. 18 until Nov. 16.

The practice of mindfulness is surging in popularity, and dubbed "The Mindful Revolution" on a recent Time Magazine cover. Mindfulness is a loosely defined state of awareness that helps improve one's health, presence, and focus in daily living, and is the overarching topic when world-renowned authors, innovators, teachers and retreat presenters descend on Stratton Mountain this fall.

Mindfulness can be achieved in a variety of ways, and this series of retreats highlights the diversity of approaches. The retreat season kicks off with best-selling author and modern day spiritual teacher, Howard Falco presenting his "Discovering Your Own True Power Retreat," and ends with world champion athlete and international best-selling author Dan Millan leading his "Peaceful Heart, Warrior Spirit Retreat." In between, presentations include Kevin Griffin's "Finding Joy in Recovery," Danny Dreyer's "Chi-Running Retreat," Linda Graham's "Rewiring Your Brain for Resilience & Well-Being," Terry Fralich's "Living with Less Stress and More Peace," and Laura Munson's "Haven Writing Retreat.

Stratton's Rob Chrostowski said the goal of the series is to expose the power of mindfulness to everyone.

"Wind Rose has designed their retreats to be inclusive, and the hope is that many people, no matter where they are in the process, will use this as an opportunity to learn more about this life-changing practice."

Becoming Mindful is a progression, but one that begins providing benefits right away. Participants relax and revive at the resort, and leave with a new understanding of how mindfulness practices can benefit all. Retreat participants will attend intensive group sessions and small group workshop sessions. Afternoon activities include anything and everything Stratton offers - riding the gondola, enjoying a hike, yoga and meditation sessions, golf, and the resort's state-of-the-art fitness center and spa. Evenings include participant and presenter work, and casual fine dining (special dietary needs are accommodated).

"Stratton has once again demonstrated their commitment to mental, physical and spiritual well-being with their decision to host this remarkable mindfulness retreat series," said Wind Rose Retreat's Rob McGrath, on Sirius/XM's Oprah Radio.
