MANCHESTER CENTER - Music, food, acrobatic feats and kids' activities top the events planned for the first of two free streetfests on Manchester's Main Street on Friday, July 18, from 6- 9 p.m. The free block party continues the town's celebration of summer and its residents. Headlining the event will be the rock n'roll music of the Don't Leave Band, one of the area's fan favorites.

The playlist reads like the hits from the 60s until today. Local band members Bill Muench, guitar and Lee Romano, bass are joined by musicians Mike Meaney on drums, Dave Domenick, guitar and Greg Snedeker, piano and cello.

Through a special permit, wine and beer available from the Perfect Wife Restaurant, can be enjoyed on the street. Hot dogs from NanZ's and Rachel's Funky Fare along with Thai favorites will help fuel the party. Lining the street will be booths featuring the works of artisans, Maureen Labate and Lauren LaSante along with wood bowl turning by Vermont Bowls.

Activities just for kids will be provided by The Downtown School, Northshire Day School and the Mark Skinner Library. Additional vendors will showcase the new Manchester Riverwalk, the services of GNAT and Serv-Pro.
