MANCHESTER - Over the last six weeks, local photographer Eric Wood has successfully worked with Google to bring Google Business Photos to the town of Manchester. When Google Business Photos first launched in January 2012, it was a service reserved for the largest of metropolitan areas.

And despite the program's tremendous demand, most small towns and cities are without a dedicated Google Photographer. The photographs taken inside the business are processed using familiar Google Street View technology, creating a 360 degree interactive tour of the business. The photos are then uploaded to Google's servers and appear next to the business' Google Search Results, Google+ Local page, as well as on Google Maps. The goal of Google Business Photos is to allow customers the opportunity to virtually walk through a business from any computer or mobile device. Google estimates 70 percent of local transactions originate with an online search.

Offering a way for customers to virtually walk through your store beforehand is an incredible way to qualify customers or clients and a fantastic way to set your business apart from others.

Being from the area, Wood is excited to offer this service to Manchester businesses.

"This is a really amazing way to showcase business in Manchester" says Wood, "it is only the second town in the state with a dedicated Google Photographer."

Pilot businesses include Land Rover Driving School, Christmas Days & The American Museum of Fly Fishing.
