MANCHESTER - As The Journal continues to look towards and adapt to the new opportunities presented by the digital era, local advertisers may be hearing from a new sales representative who has joined our team.

Danni Moran, a resident of Arlington, divides her time equally between the Bennington Banner and the Manchester Journal, covering both ends of the county. She is looking forward to getting to know local businesses and advertisers and developing media strategies to help them grow their operations. "Getting out and meeting people has been the most fun so far," she said. "Educating the business community around effective digital strategies has been exciting."

It's not all digital; print advertising remains an important part of the equation as the news media moves through a period of transition. In a community like Manchester and the Northshire in general, Moran thinks there is still plenty of life in the older more traditional forms of advertising, while merchants and others who want to get their message out can now take advantage of a menu of other options.

Customizing those packages - be they based on social media, or Web searches, or print - is an interesting challenge and puzzle to solve, she said. Before moving to Arlington, Moran lived for a while in upstate New York, and before that, in her native Brooklyn.
