As well as placing the bid itself, all bidding parties must include a certified check or bond for five percent of their bid, but not exceeding $50,000. The check will be returned to the party upon execution of a winning party's contract. An Engineer's estimate is also needed.
In addition to road and bridge construction, the project includes work on stream bank restoration and stabilization, as well as removal and disposal of debris.
There will be a pre-bid conference on June 18, and all questions on pertaining to the project will be due by June 21. One week later, the Town will address and answer all questions before the closing of the bidding process at 10 a.m. on July 2. The bids will be opened on July 7.
The pre-bid conference is mandatory for those planning to place bids. The conference will begin at the intersection of Kansas Road and Kelley Stand Road and will complete an overview of each site in need of repair. The conference is expected to last four hours.
The Forest Service has received funds from the Federal Highway Division for the completion of Phase Two, which encompasses the bidding portion. Phase One included emergency repairs, and Phase Three will consist of repairs and work done during the summer after the completion of the bidding process.
