MANCHESTER - A Manchester man pled not guilty to petty larceny, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct in Bennington District Court on Monday, according to court officials.

Richard Jarvis, Jr., 22, was arrested on Saturday, July 7, after pulling a fake handgun on police, according to the Manchester Police Department. In a telephone interview on Wednesday, officer Josh Epstein said Jarvis did not point the fake handgun at police. A small amount of marijuana and a set of stolen car keys were also recovered, according to a press release from the Manchester Police Department.

Officers arrested Jarvis at his residence on Bonnet Street after receiving a phone call from Vermont 911 around 5 a.m. stating that a man had harmed himself, was threatening others and was acting suspiciously. Jarvis was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility for violating his probation, according to the press release.

He was released Monday, July 9 on conditions and $500 bail. He received an amended set of conditions on Wednesday, July 11, which - among others - prohibited him from leaving the state, imposed a 24-hour curfew, daily check-ins, and required him to enter residential mental health treatment by July 16 unless otherwise specified by court order, according to court officials.
