MANCHESTER - The Manchester Police Department is investigating an accident between a vehicle and a skateboarder that occurred on Depot Street in Manchester shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2.

According to witnesses a male subject was seen on a skateboard traveling down Highland Avenue toward Depot Street. He failed to stop at the intersection of the two streets and continued into the flow of traffic on Depot Street, colliding into the side of a moving vehicle that was traveling east. The victim, who was identified as a 17 year-old male from Latham N.Y., was initially unconscious at the scene but regained consciousness before being transported by the Manchester Rescue Squad to Southern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington and later airlifted to Albany Medical Center. The passengers of the vehicle were not injured.
