SOUTH LONDONDERRY - A 29 year-old South Londonderry resident was arrested charged on July 5 with Reckless Endangerment, Prohibitions and Unlawful Mischief when attempting to set off firecrackers into a former landowner's face.

According to the Vermont State Police, Matthew Parant, admitted to trying to blow up a grill belonging to his former landlord, Eric Eklof, with who, investigation reveals, did not get along with Parant. Parant did not remove the firecrackers from the grill upon moving out with his girlfriend.

Malcolm Clough, age 38, next tried to light the gas grill at his residence on Route 100 of South Londonderry on May 1. Firecrackers went off in his face, but Clough did not suffer any injuries as a result of Parant placing the firecrackers in the grill.

Police say a search warrant of Parant's vehicle revealed that he was in possession of firecrackers of the same kind that were used in the grill. After being arrested and charged for possession of fireworks and felony, Parant was released on a citation to appear at the Windham District court on Aug. 6, 2013 to answer to the charges.
