BENNINGTON - Former Wisconsin Senator and co-chair for President Obama's reelection campaign, Russ Feingold, will participate in a series of classroom discussions, presentations, and interviews at Bennington College beginning Tuesday, Nov. 13, and concluding Wednesday, Nov. 14, with a community-wide discussion at 8 p.m. in the Student Center.

The Wednesday event is free and open to the public.

Known for leading the fight for campaign finance reform in the U.S. Senate by cosponsoring the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (commonly known as the "McCain-Feingold Act"), Feingold represented Wisconsin in the Senate for 18 years.

Serving on the Judiciary, Foreign Relations, Budget, and Intelligence Committees, he was the only senator to vote against the Patriot Act and was the first senator to propose a timetable to exit Iraq.

His new book, "While America Sleeps," addresses the failings of America domestically and abroad since the 9/11 terrorist attacks and suggests what steps need to be taken to ensure that the next decade is focused on the international problems that threaten American citizens.
