BENNINGTON - In a continuing effort to bring in a variety of musical talent The Bennington Center for the Arts will welcome the classically trained trio, MiXt, on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.

In their inaugural season, clarinetist Joseph Franch-Ballester, violinist Bella Hristova, and pianist Ran Dank will perform Bartok, Novacek and Franz Schubert.

Formed in 2011, MiXt is a versatile, dynamic, and vibrant chamber group comprised of three award-winning soloists. The Israeli-born Dank, Bulgarian Hristova and Spanish Franch-Ballester were all accepted into the Young Concert Artists group, a non-profit organization out of New York City dedicated to discovering and launching the careers of exceptional, but unknown, young musicians from all over the world.

To be accepted into the YCA, musicians compete against a standard of excellence, not each other. There is no specific limit to the number of artists that are inducted each year.

MiXt's inaugural season will feature the premiere of a new work written by the 2012-14 YCA.

Composer-in-Residence David Hertzberg will include debuts in New York at Merkin Hall in the Summis Auspiciis Concert, and in Washington, DC at the Kennedy Center - both in the Young Concert Artists Series - as well as performances and educational residencies across the country, including Bennington on Oct. 28.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
