MANCHESTER >> Summer is just around the corner. To help usher in the season, Manchester Music Festival will present a concert on Saturday, May 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the Helmholtz Fine Art gallery, located at 442 Depot St. in Manchester.

Within the space of about an hour, listeners will hear the Bowers/Fader Duo (Jessica Bowers, mezzo soprano and Oren Fader, guitar), assisted by three string players from MMF: Joana Genova, violin; Ariel Rudiakov, viola; and Nathaniel Parke, cello.

The music spans a wide range of time and style, beginning with arias by Mozart and ending with the cabaret flavor of Kurt Weill. In between will be selections by Paul Salerni, Eduardo Angulo, Astor Piazzolla and Joaquin Rodrigo. The gallery space will be transformed into a recital hall, with lovely live acoustics and fine visual art all around. Directly following the concert, the audience is invited to a reception to meet the artists and sample the delightful wares of Whistlepig Distillery and H.N. Williams.

Tickets ($30 for adults, $15 for students) may be purchased at the Northshire Bookstore and through MMF's website,, or by calling the Festival office at 802-362-1956 or 800-639-5868 if calling from outside Vermont.
