MANCHESTER — The Southern Vermont Art Center will hold an informational meeting for those interested in participating in its April workshop to Tuscany, Italy. The meeting will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Southern Vermont Art Center. There will be wine and cheese provided, and a slideshow presentation will take place in Gallery II of the Yester House.
SVAC's Italy tour will include a week of making art and exploration of the Tuscan countryside with plein air painting sessions led by professional artist and frequent SVAC instructor, T.J. Cunningham, www.cunninghamfineart.com.
This informational meeting is open to anyone who may be interested in the trip and is designed to answer questions about the workshop, its excursions and various activities.
"This is a chance to partake in much more than a workshop. Students will stand before architecture still resonating with The Renaissance and landscapes that have lured artists for centuries. The Informative Talk in December will answer any and all questions and open to all," said SVAC Director of Education, Abby Pinkard
The trip will be held from April 23 to 30, 2016. Trip participants can paint, draw, photograph, and experience the rolling hills around Pienza and Montepulcino in an area designated a UNESCO Cultural Landscape Site by the U.N. A cooking class featuring preparation of Italian specialties will be an extra option.
As an option, participants can add a weekend in Florence or Rome to visit the museums there.
