MANCHESTER >> Mark calendars for a weekend filled with music and fun for students, families and friends of the Michael Rudiakov Music Academy (MRMA). On Saturday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Village Picture Shows is hosting a screening of the classic black and white film from 1939 "They Shall Have Music." It is a heart-warming story of an underprivileged boy who attends a music school on the verge of bankruptcy, and convinces violin virtuoso Jascha Heifetz to perform to raise money for the school. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students and kids. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund of MRMA.
Come to see our own Music Academy students in action on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Manchester Village. Budding violinists, violists and cellists, ages 4-17 will perform a variety of pieces at the Fall recital. A reception will follow to meet and greet students and teachers. Admission is free.
