MANCHESTER - On Saturday, March 22, Manchester Music Festival will present a pre-season taste of Generations, their 40th summer season, featuring two musical couples: Joana Genova, violin and MMF Artistic Director Ariel Rudiakov, viola, joined by cellist Edward Arron and pianist Jeewon Park. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. in the Southern Vermont Arts Center's Yester House Galleries on West Road in Manchester, and feature Mozart's Quartet for piano and strings in E-flat Major, Piazzolla's Grand Tango, and Brahms' "Gypsy Rondo" movement from his piano quartet in g minor. A reception to meet the musicians will follow the concert.

In keeping with its artistic setting, MMF will also be hosting a silent auction featuring an eclectic collection of eye-catching music stands decorated by artists, art students and members of the local business community in support of the Music Festival. Stands will be on display at Yester House. Bidding will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, and will close at the end of the post-concert reception, at approximately 5 p.m. Members of the public are welcome to stop by, browse and bid. Winning bidders need not be present at the closing.

Tickets for the concert are $55 and can be purchased online at mmfvt.org or by calling (802) 362-1956. There is no charge to participate in the silent auction, and MMF invites one and all to stop by Yester House, view and bid on these unique items to use or display.
